The Centre at Penwortham is one of a network of environmental education centres at National Grid substations throughout England and Wales, and is run in partnership with the Wildlife Trust (Lancashire Manchester and North Merseyside).

Our team at Penwortham is made up of enthusiastic and experienced environmental educators, specialists in inspiring young people about the natural world.

With a magnificent wildlife garden, a purpose-built boardwalk and its very own Orchard, it provides the perfect setting for a day filled with fun, learning and discovery. Step inside our magical building and enjoy the spacious hall, complete with the most magical wildlife murals which bring the room to life.

Penwortham Environment education centre boasts a unique range of programmes, which can be delivered off site by an experienced outreach officer, or within our well equipped centre and magnificent grounds.

For Schools
Our unique range of school programmes will be sure to inspire and educate your pupils in a way they will never forget. Curriculum linked, and delivered by an qualified team bursting with knowledge and enthusiasm, our programmes are designed engage and inspire all.
