WASP currently has 12 clubs operating in schools throughout the area.

At WASP clubs, members play lots of different games and activities (Crazy Courtship, Barn Owl Bonkers, Butterfly Bonanza to name a few) as well as working on practical sessions such as building bird feeding stations and planning and developing their school grounds. No one sits still for long at WASP club as the WASP team encourage very interactive learning! WASP members can post their ideas about wildlife and WASP clubs on the website, as well as catching up with the latest news in the Obzzzerver.

WASP holds very exciting conferences each year for all its members to attend. Among past themes has been the Animal Olympics. At WASP conferences, children may be 'interviewed' by special WASP reporters to find out what they think about wildlife issues and what they have been doing at school with WASP.

All WASP club members are consulted about what they want to do and are involved in deciding what their WASP club will do. This gives the young people a voice and a choice in making decisions which will affect them, leading to a sense of ownership of the project.

The WASP project aims to enthuse and motivate young people in their school and everyday lives by offering stimulating new opportunities. The impact on the wider community is very positive, with children gaining knowledge of their environment and developing a sense of responsibility towards it, as well as being encouraged to become involved in their local community or youth group.
