Nurdle Hunt & Beach Clean

Beach cleaners

Event details

Mon, 12/03/2018 - 10:00am - 12:00pm

Come along and help to clean up Crosby beach and hunt out tiny nurdles of plastic in the sand!

Billions of tiny plastic pellets, known as 'nurdles' are lost into the UK environment each year. These can significantly harm marine wildlife once they make it into the sea.

The UK Government's ban on microbeads in rinse-off personal care products has begun, but we think the ban needs to be a lot tougher and include further measures to reduce all types of plastic pollution in the future.

So we are going to clean up the beach, collect as many plastic items as we can and record what we find!

No booking is required and all beach cleaning equipment will be provided so just dress appropriately for the weather and join us on the beach!
