Biodiversity Partnerships are made up of members that have committed to action on the Local Biodiversity Action Plans, and also any potential members who wish to play a part. The main work of the partnerships is to achieve targets for work on priority habitats (like ponds, lowland meadows and blanket bog) or species such as natterjack toad and water vole. The Lancashire Wildlife Trust works with several partnerships: Lancashire, Greater Manchester and North Merseyside.

Our headquarters near Preston acts as a focal point for Lancashire's Biodiversity Partnership, and from here the Lancashire Biodiversity Manager co-ordinates meetings, events, projects and the team of people behind Lancashire's work for Biodiversity - in particular Lancashire's Biological Action Plans, or BAPs.

Our projects, which have been developed in line with the Biodiversity Partnerships, include:

The area covered by the Trust makes it an ideal partner for the other Partnerships, and also in wider regional action for conservation. Greater Manchester's Biodiversity Project is based at the Greater Manchester Ecology Unit, and is managed by Lucy Lush.

Paul Corner manages the partnership for North Merseyside, the Merseyside Biodiversity Group.
