Highfield Moss

Valley mire, with a good range of species associated with mossland habitats.

A valley mire with a wide range of plant species, including cross leaved heath louse wort, round leaved sundew and marsh gentian.

 

The site is also known for the colonies of solitary bees, other insects include heath bumble bee and black darter.

 

The site is an important link in the wetlands within the Great Manchester Wetlands area
