Sphagnum ID session on Darwen Moor - A.J.Critch Wildlife
Whether you already know your Sphagnum mosses or you're just curious about what makes our moors so special, come and join us for a guided walk across the restored peatlands of Darwen Moor.
About the event
Led by the Lancashire Peat Partnership team, this relaxed and informative walk will take you through areas of peatland restoration. Along the way, you'll learn how to identify different Sphagnum species - the tiny mosses that help lock up carbon, restore habitats, and keep our moors wet and wild.
We'll chat about the restoration work happening on site, and the importance of healthy peatlands for wildlife and climate.
Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned moss-spotter, everyone's welcome!
