The students work in small groups taking turns to pond dip to sample the freshwater invertebrates in our pond. They will use our freshwater invertebrate identification sheet to identify the freshwater invertebrates that they find. We can link pond dipping to life cycles, if you would like us to, learning how the pond creatures change during their lives. It is possible that in our pond dipping sessions we will split the students into two groups and have one group pond dipping whilst the other group does another self-led activity. The groups would then swap over part way through the session. (This is a half day workshop.)
