It's been a busy January at Mere Sands Wood with a wide variety of wildlife spotted.
A water rail is regularly sighted from Lancaster Hide, while a bittern has been seen close to Redwing hide.
Buzzards have been seen in the pine woods and a sparrow hawk at Rufford.
Red squirrels were first reported in the pine woods a couple of years ago and they have been seen there a couple of times in January.
