Preston Junction Practical Conservation Volunteers

Preston Junction Practical Conservation Volunteers

Location:
Preston Junction Local Nature Reserve, Preston
PR1 8JP
If you'd love to get outdoors, get stuck in with some practical conservation activities and make some new friends you could come and help us to make Preston Junction LNR even better for wildlife.

We're looking for volunteers to come along to our practical sessions to help us carry out hands-on habitat management tasks. These may include clearing unwanted plants, planting to improve the range of native species and helping us to make the site more accessible. Volunteers can also help to monitor insect, bird, mammal and plant populations on the reserve.

We carry out practical work on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month between 10.00am and 3.00pm.

No previous experience is needed just a reasonable level of physical fitness and an eagerness to get stuck in whatever the weather!

We provide the tools, training and personal protective equipment for the tasks and just ask that you wear sturdy footwear, dress appropriately for the weather and bring a packed lunch.  Parking is available for volunteers on South Meadow Lane.
