Lancashire Wildlife Trust's consultancy arm is called Middlemarch Environmental
Ltd. Middlemarch is an integrated environmental consultancy and landscaping
practice working throughout the UK from our offices close to the centre of England
at Millison's Wood, near Allesley, Coventry. Our mission - creative ecological
solutions - summarises our focus on biodiversity and on delivering client needs.
The
company was first set up in 1989 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warwickshire
Wildlife Trust, which is itself part of The Wildlife Trusts, the largest voluntary
organisation in the UK concerned with all aspects of nature conservation and the
environment. The Lancashire Wildlife Trust has formed a partnership with Middlemarch
and the profits from the company actively go to support conservation work on the
ground in Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside. Our
work supports all parts of the development cycle:

impact assessments and feasibility studies. |

and design - from master planning and landscape design to biodiversity
action plans and mitigation issues. | | Implementation
and management - to create, restore, and enhance habitats of all kinds,
from wetlands through to woodlands, and to ensure their long-term management.
| | Monitoring
and research - measuring changes on the ground and linking with Universities
through our own research programmes to keep us at the forefront of knowledge.

addition, we offer management-level support in policy and strategy, encouraging
development of biodiversity policy, audits and integrated management systems,
coupled with training and staff support. With
our experienced staff, proven track record and strong associations with academic,
research and environmental organisations, Middlemarch Environmental combines a
