how to find us
The Trust has a few Offices and Visitor Centres around Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside, the main one being our Head Office at the Barn. It is nestled within the beautiful surroundings of the 600 acre Cuerden Valley Park and due to being just minutes away from the M6, M61 and M65 its easy to get to.

By Train
Nearest train stations are Bamber Bridge approx 3 1/2 miles, Leyland approx 3 1/2 miles, Lostock Hall approx 2 1/2 miles or Preston approx 7 miles.

By Bus
Buses are No 114 Preston to Chorley & No 112 Preston to Leyland. Details from Lancashire County Council www.traveline.info tel.0871200 22 33

Both these buses stop at The Cuerden Residential Park at the top of Nell lane on the Wigan Road A49. Walking distance to The Barn is approx 3 1/4 mile up Nell lane, turn left onto Shady lane, then 1st right entrance up to Cuerden Valley Park Visitor Centre), The Barn. Alternatively passengers can request to be dropped off at Shady lane and walk through the grounds of the Sue Ryder Home - although this is not an official bus stop. Also passengers coming from Chorley can get off near Back Lane in Clayton Green and walk through the park, either to the visitor centre crossing the valley or in the opposite way to Kem Mill. Bus nos 125 & 126 Preston to Chorley, leaflet 239 can be taken to Bamber Bridge Hobb Inn - walking distance approx 3miles, either through Cuerden valley park or up to Shady lane via A49 and Berkerley drive.

From M6

Depart M6 Junction 29.

Keep RIGHT to stay on Ramp.

If travelling from the South at the roundabout, take the SECOND exit -

If travelling from the North at the roundabout, take the THIRD exit -

(LEFT) onto A6 [Lostock Lane] At first set of traffic lights.

Turn LEFT (South) onto A49 [Wigan Road] Go under 2 motorway fly-overs.

Turn LEFT (East) onto Shady Lane.

Take the third turn to your LEFT (East) onto Berkeley Drive.

Drive to the end. The Barn is on your left hand side. Parking available on your left just after The Barn or follow the road round the corner and on your left.
