Are you our new Donor Development Manager?

We need an experienced and enthusiastic fundraiser to ensure we grow our resources to share our wildlife expertise and continue our inspirational approach to protecting wildlife for the future. You will help build excellent, long-term relationships with supporters, donors and members.

This is a demanding role in our highly effective development team, with great opportunities to play a significant part in our growing success. We are one of the largest Wildlife Trusts, with over 100 enthusiastic staff and major new 'Living Landscape' projects such as the £10m Brockholes Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre, due to open Spring 2011.

PRODUCTIVE LANDSCAPES IN PRESTON ASSISTANT PROJECTS OFFICE - c £17,500 p.a + 3% Contrib Pension REF:PLI

We need an enthusiastic assistant, based at our new prestigious nature reserve in Preston, to work alongside the Productive Landscapes in Preston (PLIP) Senior Project Officer and Project Officer to help us reach out to local communities in Preston with the delivery of 'Blooming Brilliant'.

You will be responsible for supporting the officers to deliver community activities, empowering local residents and helping them to instill a sense of pride in their neighborhoods through work towards the Britain in Bloom awards. You will need a dynamic, 'can do' attitude, an awareness of the natural world and experience of empowering local residents.

Chorley Community Food Growing Officer - 25.5 hours (3 days per week) £19,700 (pro rata)

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, forward thinking charity. The position will set up develop and co-ordinate the management and establishment of Community food growing schemes in Chorley. This will involve working in partnership with Chorley Borough Council, social landlords and other organisations. You will work with a wide range of people to promote the importance of food growing. Future Jobs Fund Opportunities With The Wildlife Trust For Lancashire, Manchester And N. Merseyside

If you are aged between 18 and 24 and have been unemployed and claiming Jobseekers Allowance for six months or more you may be eligible for a job with the Wildlife Trust through the Future Jobs Fund. We have opportunities in Preston, Bolton and Wigan for trainees and project assistants, getting involved in surveys, nature reserve management, environmental education, community engagement and administration.

Future Jobs Fund opportunities are for six months, working for 25 hours per week and are paid at £5.80 per hour. They are only available via Jobcentres, if you think you are eligible see your advisor at the Jobcentre and ask for Future Jobs Fund opportunities available with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.


MyWildLife Fanpage Volunteer Placement - £20 per day expenses 3 or 4 days per week for 76 days

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, forward thinking charity. The placement will develop a Facebook Marketing Page for the Wildlife Trust to engage and retain the wide range of young people we work with. The placement will design a brand, messages and a voice for the pages and also use Twitter and other social media to advertise it. The placement will work with teams and volunteers across the Trust to launch and deliver a campaign to publicise the brand and develop a strategy and train staff to maintain the pages in the future. The post is based at The Barn, Berkeley Drive, Bamber Bridge in Lancashire.

Trailblazer v Placement

Gain valuable experience working with wildlife on a 6 month placement with the exciting Trailblazers project based in Preston. Trailblazers work with 16 - 25 year olds inspiring them about the natural world by creating unique volunteering opportunities combining traditional wildlife areas such as conservation and education with other interesting areas of work in such as film making, radio broadcasting, bushcraft and marketing.

A placement with them would involve gaining experience in all of these highly competitive fields. You would also receive accredited qualifications, living and travel expenses of £60 per week and paid holiday. You should be 16 - 25 years old to apply.

V Reaching Out For Wildlife Placement - £50 per week (this includes living allowance + travel to work). Travel on work business is additional.

To assist Project Officers in managing and delivering a variety of practical projects, working in school grounds, on community allotments and on community green space. A lot of this work is practical based and will include assisting with the supervision of volunteer groups. In addition to this work, there will be opportunities to help with grounds maintenance, organic food growing, school groups and training events at community allotments and resource centre.

V Placement

A fantastic opportunity to join the Education team at Penwortham and gain that all important experience you will need to get that first paid job within this sector. If you're aged between 16-25 need experience within the sector and want to learn how to inspire children & young people about the environment & nature then this is for you.

Supported by 'V' and National Grid we are offering a placement lasting for 24 weeks 30 hours per week During this time you will assist the Centre Manager and staff promoting and delivering high quality environmental education to children and young people. You will also get involved in the conservation of our site and woodlands.

We can reimburse up to £85.00 per week for living/travel. During your placement you will work towards an accredited certificate 'Youth Achievement Award at the platinum level' You will also receive other in house training.

Work for The Wildlife Trust

Would you like to help us save wildlife and earn some money?

Could you distribute leaflets describing our work in your area, then collect them and give people the opportunity to join the Trust?

We will pay you fairly in return for your efforts and give you lots of support and training. You will need to be friendly, keen and willing to dedicate 15 – 20 hours per week to the task, mainly at evenings and weekends.

There is no “hard selling” involved at all – the work would suit anyone with the ability to engage in friendly conversation and an enthusiasm for wildlife.

Help us Raise Public awareness and critical funding.

Face to Face Membership Recruiters needed throughout our local area.

We are now seeking additional part-time and full-time team members in most areas of Lancashire, Manchester & North Merseyside.

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable people to work on behalf of The Wildlife Trust at pre-booked venues and at organised events and shows. Most show and event work is at weekends during the spring to autumn season – however we also operate year-round both weekday and weekends at other venues within a radius of approximately one hour’s travel from your home.

The role may be ideal for those seeking a career or lifestyle change and we welcome applications from mature, professional people with above average communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be enthusiastic, outgoing and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. Working patterns are flexible: typically 3-5 days per week. We offer various generous income options including bonuses: A Self-Employed/Freelance option is also available with potential for significantly higher earnings.
