It states the standards a donor can expect from fundraisers and organisations before, during and after the processing of the gift, be it a spontaneous donation of loose change or a substantial sum committed over many years. It also sets out the complaints procedure.

Race report

The first Badger run of 2009 saw 129 runners complete the challenging course in almost ideal running conditions – cool and mostly dry. The race was won by unattached runner Rich Smith in a time of 35:41, a little outside the course record of 34mins set by Steve Littler last year. Rich was well clear of the next three runners, who in turn had a convincing lead over the rest of the field. Deborah Wright of Wigan Phoenix took the honours in the ladies race, pushed by Gemma Unsworth of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde AC with young Rossendale runner Katie Ireland taking 3rd place.

Rossendale Harriers were out in force again and maintained their domination of the event by taking both men’s and ladies team trophies. Thanks to all who took part; I did overhear some Chorley Harriers indicating it was the hardest 10km they had ever competed in – so not one for the fainthearted. Good to see some newcomers in this 4th year of the series, please keep spreading the word. I am as always grateful to those who helped on the night to make this another successful event. Hope to see you all again on June 18th for Badger 2. Please tell your friends.

regards Clare Kenny,
Fundraising Manager
