Do you want to get involved?

From community gardening to species surveying, from looking after nature reserves to running Wildlife Watch groups enabling young people to discover and explore their local environment, local Wildlife Trust volunteers carry out a huge range of tasks. Opportunities don't have to be outdoors either - you could find yourself making good use of your organisational, IT, administrative or financial skills too.

Already, the work of our volunteers has helped to secure the future of many precious habitats and species, enabling them to thrive again. Volunteers are the foundation upon which The Wildlife Trust movement has been built, and people’s time given freely is an integral part of the movement’s success.

You can apply right now by filling in our online Volunteer Registration Form or downloading a copy and posting it in. If you'd just like a chat or to find out more please call Catherine Haddon (Volunteering Support Officer) or Cat Altounyan (Volunteer Manager) on 01772 324129 or email volunteer@lancswt.org.uk

Wildlife Counts is an exciting new project for volunteers to participate in biological recording on Trust reserves. To help us conserve the biodiversity of the North West it is essential that we identify and record the Wildlife that we see. Your participation in Wildlife Counts will help us to do this. Workshops will help you improve your identification skills and help us collect and coordinate important data - for more info contact Graham Jones

The Wildlife Trust Volunteer Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the contribution that volunteers make to conservation, wildlife, education, communities and individuals throughout Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside. The Volunteer Awards will be presented as part of the annual Volunteer Conference which is every year in October. We will also present Long Service awards for volunteers who have committed over five, ten, fifteen or twenty years of service to the Trust. Click on the link below for the nomination form.
