Community Events & Practical Work Parties

We host a variety of community focused events, as well as a series of regular practical conservation days that are open to all. Please note that you will need to register as a volunteer to particpate in the conservation workdays, do so by clicking here.

We have a series of upcoming FREE events on the mosslands, including:

Winter Trees Walk
Sat 24 January around Astley Moss 1-3pm

Pond Dipping/Bug Hunting
Sat 25 April on Astley Moss, 1-4pm

Our Volunteer Work Parties are held every Monday and Thursday (10.30-3.30), while there is a monthly Saturday group too. Work is varied and includes dealing with any invasive species such as Himalayan Balsam and Rhododendron, hand pulling birch seedlings, as well as tree clearing and dead hedging.
