There are many ways to enjoy your Wildlife Trust. You may want to come along to a guided walk, a talk given by an expert in the field, a fun day, an opportunity to learn or a day of practical conservation work.

We hope you will find something here to please you.

Most events are free and open to non-members. Those that carry a charge or are restricted to Members will be clearly marked.

WORK PARTIES Warton Crag 21st Feb 10.00 am

All tasks run from 10.00am until approx 3.30pm with a break for lunch. You can come along for the whole session or just part of it – it’s up to you. If you enjoy working outside and want to learn more about wildlife and countryside management then please come along and join in. There is a wide variety of tasks including woodland management, work on footpaths, and other general habitat improvement works. Training is given as required at the beginning of a task.

Wildlife Gardening Environmental Resource Centre 24th February 10.30-12.30

We will learn about the ways in which you can make your garden a haven for wildlife by adding useful features, appropriate management and choosing the right plants.

All the above courses will take place at the Environmental Resource Centre, 499-511 Bury Road, Bolton, BL2 6DH.

We can also offer these courses to schools or community groups in the Bolton area at their own premises or at our centre for groups of minimum six people.

Want to learn some new skills or just get out of the house for and hour or two? Come and join us and help to create the 3rd in a series of four unique pieces of fabric wall art, re-using odd haberdashery items! volunteer task days Freshfield Dune Heath every Thursday (except 27/12/07 and 03/01/08 10.00 - 16.00 Meeting point: Mary Bowlers Riding Stables car park at 10.00, tools, instruction, tea and biscuits provided, please bring lunch and wear suitable clothing for working outdoors in all conditions. Volunteering work parties Foxhill Bank Local Nature Reserve every Wednesday and every 3rd Saturday 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm Meeting point: the car park at the Mill Hill entrance to the Nature Reserve.
