National Marine Week is here! Take a look at everything that's going on, and download some spotter sheets to make the most of it.

Happy National Marine Week!

National Marine Week is here from 22nd July-6th August!

You may have spotted that National Marine Week actually lasts longer than a week - this is so we can make the most of the different tide times around the country!

The theme for 2023 is 'Generation Sea', which involves celebrating the work of young marine conservationists across The Wildlife Trusts who are passionate about protecting and restoring the marine environment. Find out more about how Generation Sea are working to make sure the marine environment is a healthy and productive environment here.

To celebrate the week there are plenty of exciting events, fun videos and some downloadable spotter sheets to make sure you get the most out of our coast over the next fortnight.

As an island nation, the UK has 17,800 km of windswept coastlines that are never more than 80 miles from any location in the UK. Join Lancashire Wildlife Trust at the seaside and spot incredible sea creatures, try rock pool rambles or help with a beach clean-up to protect marine wildlife at many of the free events on offer in July and August.

Fancy exploring the rockpools? Check out our quick video explaining a few of our best tips to go rockpooling, showcasing the huge number of species you can find right on our coast!

We have plenty of FIN-tastic events going on for Marine Week! Here are just a few of them - you can also view other events from The Bay here.

If you fancy getting out and doing some exploring, then download our strandline and rockpool spotter sheets and see how many species you can identify.
