Come along to our interactive workshop at Heysham Nature Reserve, to learn about the incredible marine creatures of Morecambe Bay.

Thursday and Friday workshops

Learn about life beneath the waves of the Irish Sea, see animals up close like never before and prepared to be amazed by the wonders we have on our local beaches!

This indoor event will include a range of activities such as: live animals in tanks, a huge variety of specimens found on our shores to identify, microscopes to examine these, information about plastic pollution and what you can do to help the protect the sea and an outdoor hunt for Tale Trail characters.

Craft session: Make a bird puppet session with Hilli McManus will be held both at 10.30 am to 12.00 & 1.00 to 2.30 pm. These workshops with Hilli have limited spaces with first come first served (book places on the day). The age limit is 6 – 11 years.

Saturday’s workshop

Today’s workshop also includes talks about the effects of plastics on the marine environment running at 12.15, 1.15 & 2.15 pm. These are delivered by Chris Glaze from LWT’s public Speaker Team. There is no need to book on these talks but be advised you may have to come early to secure a seat.

Both interactive workshops are suitable for 6+ year olds and are held in the classroom next to the car park at Heysham Nature Reserve, Money Close Lane, Heysham. Lancashire LA3 2UW
