After what felt like a very long, wet winter, our staff and visitors were overjoyed to feel the arrival of spring – and we think it’s safe to say the wildlife on our nature reserves was, too!
It’s been a busy month in our region! Butterflies and bees are now out in force, amphibians are spawning like crazy and spring migrants are arriving in bigger and bigger groups.
What a month. Storms Dennis and Ciara caused chaos across our region and Brockholes Nature Reserve was hit by flooding. Thankfully there was still plenty of wildlife to brighten up the month.
It’s back to reality here at the Wildlife Trust after a Christmas season filled with wildlife. In fact, December as a whole was packed with all kinds of fantastic wildlife sightings.
