How was that for a February? A spell of unseasonably warm and sunny weather has given spring a bit of a kick up the bum, so what has been seen at our reserves and local sites?

February brought with it the promise of spring, offering a generous scattering of warm bright days and big blue skies but still with all the freshness of winter upon the air.

What a month. Storms Dennis and Ciara caused chaos across our region and Brockholes Nature Reserve was hit by flooding. Thankfully there was still plenty of wildlife to brighten up the month.

Change is in the air. Wildlife is showing us that the seasons are starting to turn across Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside.

Evenings are getting noticeably lighter for longer, spring flowers are bursting forth and our reserves are teeming with wonderful wild sights.
