About the event

ITC Outdoor First Aid (16hours) Level 6 (SCQF) on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th February 2026 (9am - 6pm both days).

This Outdoor First Aid qualification is externally regulated and meets the standards to appear upon the national qualifications frameworks of England and Wales. This course is recognised throughout the UK and is the course of choice for experienced practitioners who use the outdoors.

This 16-hour course, which runs over two days, is widely regarded as the Gold Standard First Aid qualification for those working in the outdoor education industry. The course is designed to meet the needs of those working in remote locations where help is likely to be delayed and is the ideal course for Forest School practitioners. Candidates have the opportunity to develop the skills they will need to care for casualties in remote settings for an extended post incident period. The course covers both theory and practical scenarios.

Please be aware that on the second day of this course, candidates will spend time in the outdoors whatever the weather conducting practical scenarios. This always involves candidates lying, kneeling and rolling over on the cold, wet and often muddy ground. These are the conditions in which people are likely to use their outdoor first aid skills in real life and so the course tries to ensure that teaching reflects reality.

As this Outdoor First Aid course is practical and active, candidates will need to be able to bend, kneel, lie and roll another person on floor mats, and to perform CPR on a manikin.  We advise all candidates to dress so that they will feel comfortable to do so.

Outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear will be required on the second day of the course, as candidates will be lying on the ground outside. Please dress appropriately for the prevailing weather (wind, rain & cold etc.).

The course is run by an external provider, Lancashire First Aid Training Ltd, who have a team of qualified First Aid Instructor/Assessors with more than 100 years of experience between them. They are also full call out members of a Mountain Rescue team.

The cost of the Outdoor First Aid training course is £145 per trainee.

The course starts at 9am and finishes at 6pm on both days of the training. Candidates will need to attend both days in order to complete the certification.

Complementary car parking is provided for the duration of the course – candidates must provide the correct vehicle registration(s) on arrival on each day of the training (when signing in) to receive free car parking. If you choose to pay for your car parking on the day we are unable to refund it.

The certificate has a lifetime of 3 years and every candidate receives an outdoor first aid manual. Certificates will be sent out by email.

Cancellation Policy: All tickets are non-refundable within 28 days of the start of the course.
