July Balsam Busting Sessions - New Moss Wood, Cadishead and Darcy Lever Gravel Pits, Bolton

Did you know that the non-native plant Himalayan Balsam is stopping our native plant species from growing in the wild?

We are calling on nature lovers, who are looking for an outdoor, practical volunteering role to join our Balsam Busting sessions at New Moss Wood in Cadishead or Darcy Lever Gravel Pits in Bolton and help us to pull up this invasive species.


Join us as part of a friendly team to pull up Himalayan Balsam by hand at New Moss Wood, Cadishead or Darcy Lever Gravel Pits in Bolton. 

This is a great opportunity to get some fresh air, meet like-minded people, and make a real difference for local wildlife. By helping us to remove as much Himalayan Balsam as possible, you'll be playing a vital role in conserving our wet willow woodland habitat – a precious home for species like the willow tit, one of the UK's most threatened birds. 

No previous experience is needed, just an eagerness to get stuck in whatever the weather and help at any of the sessions below:
