About the event

Local artist and expert printmaker Ian Halawi is leading this session where you can create two relief prints using softcut lino to create unique seed packets.

This workshop is great for beginners and those who want to have a go at print making. You’ll be shown proper tool use, making textures, shapes and learn about different types of ink and how they work. You’ll also print your seed packets using hand burnishing techniques.

Expect a calm, welcoming atmosphere where you can slow down, work with your hands, and learn a new craft skill.

Ian Halawi is an artist based in Blackburn working predominantly in print and oil paints. He has a studio with Prism Contemporary and has worked with organisations such as The Festival of Making, Super Slow Way, Morecambe Vintage Festival and Albion Mill.  His workshops focus on illustration, printing techniques and Japanese bookbinding.  You can follow him on Instagram @ian_halawi_studio and facebook Ian Halawi Studio.

All tools and materials will be provided but, if necessary, please bring along reading glasses and do wear practical clothing/aprons as you'll working with inks.

ALL PROFITS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO FUNDING OUR NATURE AND WELLBEING WORK AT THE GREENHOUSES.
