About the event

In the morning we will explore the geology and fossils of the quarry walls. After lunch we will look at the wide variety of flora and fauna to be found in the quarry with up to five species of orchid and a range of animals. We hope to see reptiles & amphibians, dragonflies, butterflies and day-flying moths and, with luck, green tiger beetles, lunar hornet moths and more.

Anyone who enjoys nature is welcome to join us. No knowledge or experience necessary. Everyone very welcome. Hear about the wildlife we see, do some wildlife photography or simply enjoy some like-minded company. In the case of doubtful weather do email or ring 07361 380255, to check in case of cancellation or postponement. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are not allowed. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear are strongly recommended. Bring water - and a packed lunch for the all-day events. There is no charge but donations are always welcome.
