Brockholes Balsam Busters

Brockholes Balsam Busters

Location:

A close-up of Himalayan balsam as seen around this time of year without its flowers on. Notice the shape of the leaves and the long fibrous stem.

Did you know that the non-native plant Himalayan balsam is stopping some of our wonderful flowers from growing in the wild?

We're calling all nature lovers to join our Balsam Busters group at Brockholes to help reclaim areas of our Ancient woodland - Boilton wood from this invasive species.

Position details

Commitment:

Wednesday

Frequency:

Weekly

We'll be meeting up every Wednesday from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

This is great opportunity to meet like minded people, learn more about ancient woodland habitats and develop your species identification skills. You'll be able to access additional training and when the balsam removal stops in September there will be the opportunity to help with other practical conservation activities.

No previous experience is needed just an eagerness to get stuck in whatever the weather!

We just ask that you dress appropriately for the weather and bring a packed lunch.
