Brockholes Balsam Busters

Reference: Brockholes - Balsam Busters
Location:

A close-up of Himalayan balsam without its flowers on. Notice the shape of the leaves and the long fibrous stem.

Did you know that the non-native plant Himalayan Balsam is stopping our native plant species from growing in the wild?

We are calling on nature lovers, who are looking for an outdoor, practical volunteering role to join our Balsam Busters Group at Brockholes and help us to rid the reserve of this invasive species.

It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn more about habitat management and develop your species identification skills.

No previous experience is needed, just an eagerness to get stuck in whatever the weather and attend at least two of the session dates below from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

20/21/22 May

3/4/5 June

17/18/19 June

1/2/3 July

15/16/17 July

29/30/31 July

The role will end at the end of August as the Balsam sets seed.
