Summer Bird Walk for the family from Heysham Nature Reserve
Heysham Nature Reserve,
Heysham Nature Reserve, Morecambe, Lancashire, LA3 2UWAbout the event
At this time of year bird song seems louder and here at the Heysham Nature Reserve we’ve seen the arrival of migratory birds like warblers. Setting off from Heysham’s car park, we will head down the landscape strip towards the coast and Red Nab, listening as we go. The incoming tide on Morecambe Bay, will bring in many birds for us to see and identify. This event is for families, and it is important to wrap up warm and be prepared to walk for around 15 minutes to the shore and then back again. We will do the walk in most weathers but will advise if the forecast is too bad.
You can walk back at any time if you need to and there are options to meet us nearer Red Nab if you can’t do the walk. Once you book, do get in touch if you have any questions.
We ask you to bring along any binoculars you have them, but we will also have binoculars you can borrow.
Please note: This session takes place in an outdoor location, and we advise you bring waterproof clothing and footwear to ensure you stay dry and warm. Supervision of children is always required. Toilet facilities are only available at the start and end.
