Wet Willow Wildlife Project - Practical Conservation Volunteer Days at Whitehead Hall Meadow (Manchester)

Location:
Whitehead Hall Meadow, Unnamed Road, Astley, Manchester, M29 7JE
Join us and make a difference for Wet Willow Wildlife!

To kick off this autumns' Wet Willow Wildlife practical conservation work we are running work days at Whitehead Hall Meadow in Astley on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th of October.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with practical conservation tasks including scrub removal from the meadow to prevent it from turning into a woodland. We'll also be thinning some of the smaller trees from the woodland edges to allow light into the denser woodland which will allow regrowth of ground flora.

No previous experience is needed - just a reasonable level of fitness and a willingness to get stuck in, whatever the weather!

We'll provide tools, training and personal protective equipment (PPE) and you'll just need sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing and a packed lunch.

If you'd like to find out more and apply to volunteer with us on one or both days please click on the link below which will take you to Assemble, our Volunteer Management System.
