Kirsty and Katie from our peatland restoration team joined fellow project officers from projects funded by the Paludiculture Exploration Fund in the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham last week.

The Low Carbon Agriculture Show, which this year for the first time co-located with CropTech and LAMMA, the UK's premiere farm machinery show, seeks to showcase low-carbon practices, cutting-edge technology, and energy solutions for a sustainable farming future.

Lancashire Wildlife Trust were joined on the stall, which was hosted by Niab, by partners from Ponda, Fenland Soil, Manchester Metropolitan University and more.

Having the show on the way in to the larger LAMMA show meant plenty of footfall from farmers on their way to see the latest tractors and harvesters and led to some interesting conversations and connections with different people.

The stall was accompanied by a one of a kind Loglogic bulrush harvester kindly leant to Niab by farmer Will Barnard from the Somerset Levels.

If you work with farmers or are a farmer, please consider filling out the paludiculture survey which will help to inform the future for paludiculture and wetter farming trials in the UK:
