A stunning mosaic of woodland, grassland and moorland, Smardale is the perfect place for a summer wildlife walk. Keep your eyes peeled for common blue, dark green fritillary and even Scotch argus butterflies, while the birdlife includes wood warblers, nuthatches, pied flycatchers and redstarts.
