About the event

It’s that time of year when the Halloween creatures emerge from their hiding places, and Moss bank park is reported to be plagued with some strange and unusual characters. Creepy creatures large and small, have been spotted lurking in the woods, gardens and playing fields and we desperately need courageous trackers to locate these otherworldly intruders. Maps of previous spooky sightings will be provided to each ghost hunter to help them complete their mission. With all the creatures found and recorded our intrepid hunters will earn themselves a certificate and sticker as well as a warming cup of hot chocolate. So join us if you dare for a Halloween adventure not to be missed!

Our Halloween Xplorer Trail is perfect for families with children 8 years or under. It provides an opportunity to take part in the Halloween festivities during the day and to explore the natural beauty of Moss Bank Park safely through a fun outdoor challenge. Tickets cost just £3.00 per pack. There is no charge for adults of for children under 18 months. Tickets can also be purchased directly from the cafe in Moss Bank Park on the day for £3.50.

This activity will take place across Moss Bank Park, with Halloween themed markers being located throughout its fantastic open spaces. On average people take around 30-45 minutes to complete the walk but you can always take advantage of the picnic benches or large outdoor play area if your little ones need a break. Some markers are off the path and so depending on the weather, we would recommend wellies although they are not essential.

We ask that you please bring your own pen to note down the answers as you go along and also a face mask (which you will need if you need to use the toilet facilities in the café). Our Café will be open offering hot and cold drinks and snacks to take away basis. Any four legged friends are welcome to join families on their quests.

This event is brought to you in association with the British Orienteering association. All proceeds from the activity go towards the charitable work of the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

*COVID*: In line with the latest Government update, from 14th September we encourage all guests to adhere to the latest guidance and not meet in groups of more than 6 people to help protect you and each other when at the park.
