About the event

In conjunction with Heysham Nature Reserve’s, ‘Connecting to Nature’ project, Gwen Dean from is hosting our second needle felting workshop and for this two and a half hour workshop, you will create your own bumblebee needle felted painting, framed in an embroidery hoop.

Your kit will include:

· 4.5 x 5.5 inch dense foam pad;

· Two felting needles;

· A 4 inch wooden embroidery hoop;

· One square of linen with a template design; and

· Several colours of carded Corriedale wool.

A pair of scissors and some glue will also come in handy at the end of the session.

Each kit has been prepared (at least 3 days before posting) and will be sent out to you before the home session occurs. All materials are then yours. We advise that you help and supervise your child when opening the kit and throughout the session. Kits are only available to those who book.

Due to sharp needles, it is not recommended for younger children and children over 12 should be supervised by an adult at all times. Expert guidance is given throughout the workshop by Gwen.

£10 per kit. Due to funding from EDF Energy in conjunction with Heysham Nature Reserve’s project, our price is £10 but the normal price per kit and training would be £30.

Additional booking information

Once you have booked you will receive a Zoom link, so you will need a suitable device and a reliable internet connection for the workshop. Emma from Heysham NR’s project will then contact with any further details.
