Wetland Warrior: Lunt Volunteering Day
Event details
About the event
Join us at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve and help improve this fantastic wetland habitat through volunteering. Meet new people, enjoy the outdoors, and make a positive impact for wildlife and nature.
The task will be either removing Ragwort, a native species which can outcompete other plant species, reducing the biodiversity in the grasslands. Or removing Himalayan Balsam, an invasive plant commonly found along watercourses which spreads rapidly, outcompeting native species.
Both tasks are essential increasing the biodiversity and health of Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve.
Meeting at 10:30am at the Learning Centre, then heading out onto the Reserve to complete the tasks. Coming back for Lunch. Finishing at 3pm.
Can't stay all day? No problem – you're very welcome to join us for half a day.
Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear for all weathers, bring sun cream and plenty of water.
Sunshine Tearooms will be on site, food and drink are available to purchase.
Parking not included, £4 for the whole day.
