Step back in time at our Roman themed summer village fete this August bank holiday weekend.

Join us for an unforgettable three days of summer celebration with a spectacular Roman twist as we welcome special guests from the Roman Military Research Society.

Experience Roman life through stalls displaying Roman artifacts, fashion and weaponry. Watch demonstrations on Roman cooking and weaponry plus meet actors in authentic Roman costume.

Enjoy delicious Roman themed food and drink, try your hand at traditional games, and witness thrilling Roman weaponry displays as history comes to life before your very eyes!

With interactive experiences, live entertainment and plenty of surprises throughout the weekend, this years summer village fete will have something for everyone.

Add On

Add ons can be purchased alongside your admission tickets, please show your booking confirmation on entry. Tickets are limited for add ons and we cannot guarantee tickets on the day due to popular demand.

• Roman Citizen and Legion Training School (£5 per child) 11am to 12pm or 1pm to 2pm - learn about Roman citizenship, explore armour and weapons, have a go at forming a shield wall and participate in a battle challenge (parents vs children). Each child gets their own replica wooden sword to keep and a certificate (suitable for ages 5+).
• Roman Workshops with our Education Team (£5 per child) 10am to 11:30am, 12:00pm to 1:30pm or 2:00pm to 3:30pm - Choose from Roman fort building, Roman crafts and games, have a go at fire lighting & making Roman bread on a fire or try all three!
