Moses Gate Country Park - a Nature Works success story

Matthew Swift

At Moses Gate Country Park, our Nature Works Team have been carrying out a range of improvements to make the park a better place for both people and wildlife over the last few years, helping more visitors enjoy this special green space while encouraging a deeper connection with nature.

Creating better ways to explore

Good access to nature matters. Improvements to the park’s paths are helping visitors explore Moses Gate, enjoy its natural surroundings and discover the wildlife that lives here. Whether it’s a daily walk, a family outing or a chance to escape the busyness of everyday life, these routes help bring people closer to nature.

The team has also built new benches, creating welcoming places for visitors to pause, take a breath and appreciate the sights and sounds around them. Sometimes, the best way to experience nature is simply to sit quietly and see what appears.

Getting closer to wildlife

Moses Gate is a valuable place to discover local wildlife, and the new bird viewing screens are helping visitors watch birds while reducing the risk of disturbing them. These features offer a chance to observe wildlife more discreetly, encouraging people to look more closely at the natural world around them.

New lakeside platforms provide further opportunities to enjoy the park’s lakes and appreciate the wildlife that depends on these habitats. From watching activity on the water to taking in the changing seasons, they offer another way to experience the richness of nature at Moses Gate.

Nature is for everyone

Every improvement we make is an opportunity to strengthen the connection between people and the natural world. By improving paths, building places to rest and creating dedicated wildlife-viewing points, our Nature Works Team is helping make Moses Gate Country Park a more welcoming place to enjoy nature.

Because protecting wildlife isn’t just about looking after habitats; it’s also about helping people value, understand and feel part of the natural world.

Together, we can create spaces where wildlife has room to thrive and where everyone can experience the joy of nature, right here on their doorstep.
