The Hive at Moss Bank Park
The HIVE is one of our most interactive and inspiring projects based at the fantastic Moss Bank Park, Bolton.
Welcome to The Hive at Moss Bank Park!
The Hive is a magical escape for families in the heart of Greater Manchester. A series of unique garden and outdoor spaces can be explored off accessible footpaths, including a terrace backyard, sensory garden, wildlife-friendly garden, community food growing space and the United Utilities 'Slow the Flow Garden' from the 2017 Tatton Park Flower Show.
A mud kitchen, willow domes, fairy garden, log train, a series of wildlife sculptures, dinosaur garden and other natural play features all sit alongside our show gardens to provide hands-on fun and imaginative play for little and big ones.
As well as stimulating ideas for your home and community the surrounding hedges, orchard, meadows, mature woodland and shrub beds have been designed to create a space that is perfect for relaxation and reflection, either individually or as a family. What's more, they're a haven for wildlife!
A FEW CHANGES AT THE HIVE
We've made a few changes at The Hive during this unsettling time, to ensure you and your family can visit safely. The Hive itself remains closed for now, while the cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am - 4pm, on a takeaway-only basis.
While we aren't ready to bring our events programme back just yet, you can enjoy a wonderfully wild self-led challenge called Xplorer. Work as a team to find the special markers, discover Moss Bank Park along the way and, most of all, have fun as a family!
