Volunteering - The Hive

At the Hive we are always looking for people to join our HIVE family. The success of the HIVE is down to the active involvement of the volunteers who support all the development and maintenance work that is done behind the scenes throughout the year.

Bank vole

The chestnut-brown bank vole is our smallest vole and can be found in hedgerows, woodlands, parks and gardens. It is ideal prey for owls, weasels and kestrels.

Ordinary moss

Ordinary moss is very common in gardens and woodlands. moss provides shelter for many minibeasts, so encourage it to grow in your garden by providing logs, stone piles and untidy areas.
