We are grateful to have some incredible people making a difference for wildlife across Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside.
Our Reserve of the Month is Scutchers Acres - a special place for nature with an orchard and a river running through it. This reserve has restricted access to protect the wildlife that lives within it but reserve officer Danny shares his favourite spots in our blog. We're delighted to be able to work at Scutchers Acres thanks to a very generous living legacy - what a fantastic way to make a difference.
Over 50000 actions for nature
Since spring 2023, supporters of our My Wild Garden Award have recorded more than 50,000 actions to help wildlife thrive in gardens, yards and balconies across our region.

Have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer? It is one of the best ways to make a difference for wildlife, learn new skills and meet new friends. There are lots of different volunteering roles available, from getting your hands dirty with practical conservation tasks, to welcoming visitors to our nature reserves or working with our office teams. Whatever you choose, Lancashire Wildlife Trust promises a warm welcome.

September is a brilliant month for finding fungi and, with a little searching, you should be able to spot plenty at our reserves or your local woodlands and green spaces.
Mere Sands Wood is a particularly excellent location for fungi, including this beautiful white saddle fungus that was spotted by Mark.
