North Lancashire Wildlife Group - Birds, Beasts and Bugs of the Bog
Event details
About the event
Alasdair McKee of the RSPB and Cumbria Wildlife Trust will talk about Foulshaw Moss nature reserve in Cumbria. The peat bog there has been restored over the last 25 years and is now home to an amazing array of wildlife from Hobbies and Ospreys through rare crickets and dragonflies, to various reptiles and amphibians. This lively and entertaining talk will introduce you to all of these and explain why peat bogs are so vital for wildlife – and for us.
We are a friendly, local group of the Lancashire Wildlife Trust who meet throughout the year to share our interest in the natural world. Our wildlife talks are held in the Church of the Ascension hall, Michaelson Avenue, Torrisholme, LA4 6RH at 7.30pm on the second Friday of every month from September to March. Anyone who enjoys nature is welcome. Entry is £3 (includes free refreshments).
