Get closer than ever to Brockholes' wildlife

Ever wondered what life is like out in the middle of the lakes at Brockholes? Our immersive new wildlife webcams take you right into the thick of it, streaming live from Meadow Lake and Number One Pit Lake.

Thanks to funding from Lancashire Environmental Fund (LEF), you can now watch wildlife in real-time from the comfort of your sofa. So grab a nice hot drink, sit back and enjoy the stunning views from this 250-acre wildlife refuge.

Tern raft

Thanks to everyone who donated to our 2021 tern raft fundraiser - you raised enough money to help us make two new tern rafts! We now have six tern rafts on Number One Pit, and they're all occupied by nesting common terns.

See what one mother tern and her young are up to on our live webcam.

Troubleshooting playback issues

These cameras have been made possible with funding from Lancashire Environmental Fund, and are powered by Streamdays.

You'll need to click play on each camera for it to start playing, and if you leave the screen, they'll pause again.

More information

Why doesn't it work on Flash Player?

The live streaming is no longer compliant with Flash because Adobe is phasing out the Flash plugin. Unfortunately, not all browsers are fully HTML5 compatible. For example, you may find that on one mobile device the Google Chrome browser will work fine, but not on another mobile device; the reason for this is that different devices only have certain versions available, which again makes some devices compatible and others not.

Streamdays recommends that users ensure their device and browser are up to date.

Samsung users

Please try the native built-in browser which is called 'internet', that is also compatible.

Android users

Both Firefox and Samsung internet seem to work.  Google Chrome and Microsoft Bing appear to be incompatible.

Mac users

If your playback settings don't allow the option to enlarge the screen to full, please update the Safari browser on your Mac to the latest version which should resolve the issue.

If you're still experiencing playback issues please email us at marketing@lancswt.org.uk and we'll do our best to help.

Help us keep our nature reserves special
